A discussion of race, politics, media and the like… What I see is what you get.

I am. A Black man…

It is the perspective from which I speak. It is the lens I peer through. I didn’t make it this way…it is the way I found it. And I cannot ignore it because it refuses to ignore me. I will speak on it until you see what is so plainly clear to me…

The complexity which is Black folk has long been simplified, marginalized, demeaned, derided and frankly not very well understood by the mainstream community. We have long been portrayed as carnal, simple-minded, democratic socialists, that are race-baiting victims who hate white people. The truth of the matter is that we are also deliberate, nuanced, republican fascists, that believe in self-determination who hate ourselves. Kinda sick when you think about it. The tangible, psychological and sociological effects of racism (both institutionalized and personal), white supremacy and subsequently, self-hatred, is so pervasive and complete that it is hard to really see how a people that have dealt with the lows and highs of being American can be in their “righteous minds”. By no way am I trying to clear this up…just trying to show you the peculiarities and dichotomy that exist in me…and thus in all of us…
